PeaceMakers with programs operating in communities outside of their own territories
She is a sociology student at the University of Antioquia. She is passionate about relationships between the environment and society. She has more than 8 years of experience in working with organizations of the city of Medellín, developing and implementing advocacy and transformation processes with methodologies of education for peace, entrepreneurship and innovation as well as participatory action research IAP. She is co-founder and director of Deditos Verdes. When she was 16 years old she received the award “Winner of the Young Talented Women’s Contest of the city of Medellín in its 2014” version and recognition as an outstanding citizen leader of the Fundación Mi Sangre in 2011.
Manuela Arbolada has created the program “Yoga for Harvesting Peace”, where she applies the technique Yoga Sensitive to Trauma to support the recovering of the emotional health of vulnerable communities, such as female victims of the armed conflict and children living in precarious areas in Medellin.
Manon is French but has been living in Colombia for 4 years now. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in international trade and languages and a master’s degree in international cooperation. Her experience in the social sector working for communities led Manon to create a methodology to increase women’s self-esteem through the resignification of the concept of beauty and sustainable production of natural make-up. Her methodology “SíHembra” is applied in the workshops of the company Ocre Cosmética.
